Growing up in Naples, Italy, three young brothers, Francesco Marra, Emiliano Marra, and Enzo Marra, had a dream, a dream of coming to America to grasp ahold of the American Dream. After Francesco finished attending culinary school in Italy, the three brothers decided to make their dream a reality and packed up their bags and headed to the capital of America, Washington, D.C. Francesco started as a line cook and worked his way up the line to become the executive chef of a major Italian restaurant in Washington, D.C. even being featured in Washingtonian magazine for his gourmet homestyle dishes. Emiliano and Enzo worked to spread their names throughout the area too with Emiliano becoming one of the best pizza and bread bakers in the entire region.



Through this period of time chasing after the American Dream the Marras realized that there was a great need; a need for a food distribution service that would be able to provide restaurants with the highest quality products at affordable prices with excellent customer service. Out of this need, in 1999 Euro Gourmet was born. Resigning from their high profile careers, they decided to step back and find a way to serve the people, restaurants, and community.

That was over 10 years ago. Euro Gourmet has now grown to be one of the largest independently owned wholesale speciality distributor on the East Cost. We upgraded to a larger state of the art warehouse to contain our ever growing array of products. We also own and operate our own fleet of refrigerated trucks and vans delivering products to restaurants up and down the east coast.

In addition to upgrading our warehouse and fleet of trucks, the Marras discovered a few other needs as well, one of these was a need for products that meet the same level of quality as the services being offered. Sapore D’Oro and Sapore Classico are the Marras’ response to this need. These private labels use the highest quality ingredients to produce the highest quality products. Through these private labels, Euro Gourmet can ensure that the finest ingredients are always used and the utmost care is used through the entire harvesting, manufacturing, and packaging processes to indeed offer you “Superior Taste & Quality,” a motto we can stand behind.

Another need was the need for the same quality and superb customer service now found in the wholesale food distribution service through Euro Gourmet, but for restaurant equipment. This lead to the Marras starting Euro Restaurant Solutions in 2008 headed up by Jeff Calwell. ERS has been focusing on providing the best quality Wood-Fired Ovens developed and constructed entirely in Italy outside of Naples by third generation oven artisans. Euro Gourmet holds the exclusive UL listing, as well as soon to be ETL, on the Cirigliano Forni wood-fired pizza ovens.
